Step-by-step guide
The Aruba ED Card, explained.
Everything you need to know, in plain English.
Watch out for scam sites.
Several websites charge $80 to $100 or more to "help" you complete your Aruba ED Card. The real fee is $20, paid directly to the Aruban government. Always use the official site: edcardaruba.aw.
1.
What is the ED Card?
The ED Card (Embarkation and Disembarkation Card) is a mandatory online form every traveler must complete before flying to Aruba. It replaced the old paper immigration card in 2020. Every traveler needs one, including infants.
2.
What does it cost?
The Aruba ED Card costs $20 USD per traveler aged 8 and older. The fee is paid once per calendar year directly to the Aruban government, even if you visit Aruba multiple times. Children under 8 are exempt. Watch out for scam sites that charge $80 to $100 or more. The real fee is $20, period.
3.
When do I fill it out?
Within 7 days before your arrival in Aruba. We recommend doing it at least 72 hours before your flight so you have time to fix anything if needed. Filling it out earlier than 7 days won't work. The system won't accept it.
4.
Where do I fill it out?
Only at the official Aruban government portal: edcardaruba.aw.
5.
What do I need before I start?
Have your passport, flight info, and the address where you're staying ready. We made a full checklist so nothing slows you down.
View the Checklist →6.
What happens after I submit?
You'll receive a confirmation email with a QR code. Save it to your phone and screenshot the QR code as a backup. Aruban customs will scan the QR code on arrival. No printing required.
Don't forget travel insurance.
Flight delays, lost luggage, a twisted ankle on the boardwalk, travel insurance is cheap peace of mind for an island trip. Here's the policy I recommend.
SafetyWing Nomad Insurance
Flexible weekly coverage that's easy to buy last-minute and covers medical, evacuation, and trip delays.
